A friend in my electric only club has been working on a 3D printed EDF flying wing.
His 13th version of it is screaming and it is the first one to make its 3rd flight.
I don't know the details of his EDF unit but the wing is about 40" span and about 24" long.
He recently hit 169mph with it. This was checked by a GPS unit in the plane. It had been tested as accurate.
Some of the early ones did not last to long. One did a big right roll into the back of a pickup truck. 3D printed planes don't crash well, there is nothing left to repair.

Interesting. He should go larger combing foam wing with printed components. Have him contact me… I will send him a scale flying wing design he won’t have to guess whether it will fly:)
I have no power nor cell and it’s expected to be this way for a week or more. Houston

My friend knows there are other ways to do it, but he wants to develop his design into something that will be a really good plane.
One of his early ones apparently had a slight warp in the wing, as the speed built up, it went into a big right roll and smashed into the open bed of a pickup. No damage to the truck because he had a thick bed-liner in it.
It looked like a hellfire missile attack on the truck.
