Hi all! I've recently finished building an F14 Tomcat with working swing-wing and did a maiden flight. It's a simple build. one pusher propeller, no gears, no EDFs. I built it out of 5mm depron sheets. The airplane has 1-meter wingspan when fully swept out.
Also, I wanted to see the effects of swing wing under elastic tension.
I couldn't find anything interesting out of the experiment. What I've observed is that when the wing is not stiff, it has trouble climbing because the wing simply sweeps backwards due to increased drag.

Next, I just want to install a 50g servo for the swing wing action and fly with a bigger LIPO, 2200 mah perhaps. Do another maiden flight. I plan to paint it after a successful flight.
